Ketamine infusions for mood disorders take 40 minutes. Plan to be in the clinic for about 1.5 hours. Infusions for chronic pain can take 2 to 4 hours, so plan to be in the clinic for 3 to 5 hours.
Do not eat for 6 hours before your appointment; you can drink clear liquids up to 2 hours before. Wear comfortable clothing. You will be monitored throughout the infusion and should arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home after the treatment.
